#ErsteZnali
Financial education programme

  • We want our clients and the general public to make better financial decisions
  • Sound financial decisions are a prerequisite for the prosperity of society and sustainable business

We have conducted a survey

Budgeting

68% of respondents do not keep track of their income and expenses

Advice

65% of respondents turn only to their family and friends for financial advice

Knowledge

25% of respondents believe that they possess the knowledge necessary to manage money

The survey we conducted showed that 90 percent of respondents have never received training in personal finance management, 65 percent turn to family and friends for advice, and only six percent turn to their bank.

That is why we launched a comprehensive, free financial education programme available to all citizens.

#ErsteZnali – a fun educational platform
for serious financial topics

#ErsteZnali is an interactive platform with engaging content that provides online financial education and offers the opportunity to compete in financial knowledge.

The platform contains information on personal finance management, saving, insurance, loan products, security, and many other relevant topics. No specific Bank products are promoted on the platform; instead, it provides information and guidance aimed at improving financial literacy among the general public. The content will be continuously updated and enhanced, gradually covering an increasing number of topics and partners.

Everything about insurance

Guardians of the Dragon’s Treasure video game

Is money a difficult topic to discuss with children, and how can you talk to them about 'difficult subjects' in general? Is financial literacy one of the most important skills of the modern age? With the goal of introducing financial topics to children in a fun and engaging way, Erste Bank created the mobile game Guardians of the Dragon’s Treasure, which can help the youngest to develop a responsible attitude toward money and spending. It is designed for children in lower grades of primary school and can be downloaded for free from Google Play and the App Store.

The game was inspired by the book Guardians of the Dragon’s Treasure by Dragica Mujković, published by the children’s publisher Kreativni centar, whose publication was previously supported by the Bank. The illustrations, both in the book and in the game, were created by the renowned Dobrosav Bob Živković, whose distinctive artistic style is recognised by many generations. As the readers, both children and parents, received the book with great interest, we decided to adapt its content and make it even more interactive by turning it into a mobile game – a way to get children more interested in financial topics. The game is accessible to everyone and can be easily downloaded for free from Google Play and the App Store.

Financial education for the youngest

When did people start minting money in Serbia? Why is gold valuable, and why didn’t it bring happiness to King Midas? Why can’t all our wishes always come true, and what does a household budget have to do with it? You will find the answers to these and many other questions if you embark on an adventure with the Guardians of the Dragon’s Treasure. On this journey, full of trials and obstacles, you will have to overcome numerous challenges to protect the treasure entrusted to you by the Dragon. The book Guardians of the Dragon’s Treasure teaches children how to take care of money and provides them with knowledge that forms the foundation for building future financial literacy.

The book’s author is Dragica Mujković. The book was published by Kreativni centar, with the support of Erste Bank.

Personal Finance Management workshops

An important part of the financial education programme is personal finance management workshops, where Bank experts volunteer to share their knowledge and experience with interested citizens. The workshops include practical advice and guidance on managing a personal budget and handling finances, without promoting any of the Bank’s products or services.
