Youth Business Serbia programme announces the competition for the business ideas intended for the young up to 35 years of age

The competition for the business ideas has been announced within “Youth Business Serbia” programme, it is intended for the young up to 35 years of age with residence in the territory of towns and municipalities: Niš, Merošina, Doljevac, Gadžin Han, Leskovac, Novi Sad, Beočin, Sremski Karlovci, Temerin, Gornji Milanovac, Čačak, Kraljevo, Vrnjačka Banja, Raška, Subotica, Sombor, and Kanjiža. These towns and municipalities are the members of inter-municipal partnerships led by Niš, Novi Sad, Kraljevo, and Subotica, set up with the support of USAID Local Sustainable Development Project during 2011.

Applying to the competition, the young have got an opportunity to undergo a series of the trainings to help them improve their business ides and develop them in the business plans which will, in February 2013, be considered for crediting within Erste Bank “Superstep” credit line intended for the young starting up their own business.

For the young who successfully undergo all of the trainings and set up their own business, additional trainings will also be ensured from various business areas as well as business mentorship in the duration of one year.

Erste Bank has doubled the amount intended for Superstep credit line in relation to the previous year, thus, EUR 100,000 will be available to the business start ups in this cycle. Erste Bank Superstep loan has got the interest rate by 4% lower than the loans intended for entrepreneurs within regular offer. However, more significantly than the interest rate is that no collateral or guarantee of an entity already having a successful business is necessary for Superstep loan.

Business Idea Competition

The competition is opened until 3rd of November 2012

Applying to the competition, the young have got the opportunity to involve in the programme which includes:

  • Three-day training “The Idea Matters at the Beginning”, for business idea development
  • Two-day training “Route to Successful Entrepreneur” of National Employment Service
  • Free of charge support in business plan development and support in the course of enterprise set up
  • Access to favourable Erste Bank “Superstep” credit line for the young starting up own business
  •  Business mentorship in the duration of one year
  • Specialised trainings from various business areas

Who May Apply?

The young up to 35 years of age with the residence in the territory of the towns and municipalities: Niš, Merošina, Doljevac, Gadžin Han, Leskovac, Novi Sad, Beočin, Sremski Karlovci, Temerin, Gornji Milanovac, Čačak, Kraljevo, Vrnjačka Banja, Raška, Subotica, Sombor, and Kanjiža.

The young recorded at the National Employment Service as well the young up to 30 years of age will have an advantage in the course of the selection.

How to Apply

Selection Process

The selection of the received business ideas will be made by the commission comprised of the representatives of SMart kolektiv, National Employment Service, Erste Bank, Ministry of Youth and Sport, and USAID Sustainable Local Development project.

The commission will primarily evaluate the business ideas and motivation of the applicants to involve in the programme and start up own business. Besides, the commission will also evaluate applicant skills and experience. The selected applicants will be electronically notified.

Three-day training “The Idea Matters at the Beginning” will be organised for the selected applicants, which will enable them to review and improve their business ideas. The applicants who successfully undergo this training will have the opportunity to learn how to set up and manage an enterprise at two-day training of the National Employment Service “Route to Successful Entrepreneur”.

Free of charge support of the consultant of “Youth Business Serbia” will be available to the applicants who undergo all of the trainings, which will help them improve their business plans and be prepared for the selection panels which will give recommendation to Erste Bank for the crediting of the best business plans. The selection panels will be organised during February 2013. Business set up and the finance of the best business plans through “Superstep” credit line is planned in March 2013.
